Summer is back in Barcelona: it is very, very worm. If july was a cool month this September is inviting everybody to go back to the swimming pool. Under this hot weather the major of Barcelona, Xavier Trias, and the Catalan “Minister” for Culture, Ferran Mascarell, have opened a week called “La Setmana del Llibre en Català”, a commercial exhibition of all kind of books in Catalan that will take place until September 18th at the Ciutadella’s Park, the main urban park of the city.
I was there for ten minutes this afternoon and I would say it is a must to visit it: compared to previous editions (this one is number 29th) the little village of wooden houses where the exhibition takes place is very attractive.
As the major of the city said: “Come and see this city of books”. He was inviting all the citizens of Barcelona and visitors to spend some time at the park and, why not, buy one book. I am still thinking which one I will buy this year. Any idea? I like reading biographies.
